Christina Sfakianos went from feeling fit and energized to
noticing she was sluggish and unfocused. Her regular GP doctor
tested her for Lyme, but missed the positive test result. She said
age was to blame — Christina was 35 at the time. Her health
worsened.
At one point she didn’t even realize she’d cut herself until she
was bleeding into her daughter’s dinner (that was from the nerve
damage). A few twists and devastating turns over the next several
years turns sent this mother of two to the ER as her body began to
shut down.
Finally after many unsuccessful doctors and conventional
treatments, she found a Lyme specialist at the Johns Hopkins
Medicine Lyme Disease Research Center who was able to do more
accurate testing, and she found an integrative practitioner in New
York City who was finally able to help Christina send her Chronic
Lyme into remission. This is the audio version of the filmed
interview, you can watch it here
